====ΚΚ====

Uriah Heep - Sunrise

=========

Sunrise
And the new days breakin through
The morning
Of another day without you
And as the hours roll by
No-ones there to see me cry
Except the sunrise
The sunrise and you

Tired eyes drift across the shore
Looking for love and nothing more

But as the sea rolls by
No-ones there to see me cry
Except the sunrise
The sunrise and you

Sunrise
Bless my eyes
Catch my soul
Make me whole again

Sunrise, new day
Hear my song

I'm tired of fightin
And foolin around
But from now on
Till who knows when
My sword will be my pen
And I'll love you, love you
For all of my time

Traffic - Dear Mr. Fantasy

To Dear Mr. Fantasy υπήρχε στο 1ο τους άλμπουμ Mr. Fantasy [1967].
*/*/*/*/*/*/*
Dear Mister Fantasy play us a tune
Something to make us all happy
Do anything take us out of this gloom
Sing a song, play guitar
Make it snappy
You are the one who can make us all laugh
But doing that you break out in tears
Please don't be sad if it was a straight mind you had
We wouldn't have known you all these years

Feist - I Feel It All

Το I Feel It All θα είναι το επόμενο single της Feist
*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*
I feel it all, I feel it all
I feel it all, I feel it all
The wings are wide, the wings are wide
Wild card in sight, wild card in sight

Ooo, I'll be the one who'll break my heart
I'll be the one to hold the gun
I know more than I knew before
I know more than I knew before
I didn't rest, I didn't stop
Did we fight, did we talk?

Ooo, I'll be the one who'll break my heart
I'll be the one to hold the gun
I love you more
I love you more
I don't know what I knew before
But now I know I want to win the war

No one likes to take a test
Sometimes we don't pull or flex
Put your weight against the door
Kick drum on the basement floor
Stranded in the fog of woods
Looking like the winter bird
On my head the water pours
Cops stream through the open door
Fly away
Fly away to what you want to make

I feel it all, I feel it all
I feel it all, I feel it all
The wings are wide, The wings are wide
Wild card in sight, wild card in sight

Ooo, I'll be the one who'll break my heart
I'll be the one who'll break my heart
I'll be the one who'll break my heart
I'll do it, don't you start it
The truth lies
The truth lies

The Beau Brummels - Just A Little

Από το πρώτο τους LP Introducing the Beau Brummels (1965).

******
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
I can't stay
Yes I know
You know I
Hate to go
But goodbye
Love was sweet
I was kind
Never mean
So I'll cry just a little cause I love you so
And I'll die just a little cause I have to go
Away...
Can't you see
How I feel
When I say
Love's unreal
So goodbye
It's been sweet
Even though
Incomplete
So I'll cry just a little cause I love you so
And I'll die just a little cause i have to go
Away...

INSTRUMENTAL INTERLUDE

Every night
I still hear
Oh your sigh's
Very near
Now it's gone
Gone away
As I once
Heard you say
Now I'll cry just a little cause I love you so
And I'll die just a little cause i have to go
Away...
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

We Are Scientists - After Hours

Στις 17 Μαρτίου κυκλοφορεί το νέο album των We Are Scientists με τίτλο Brain Thrust Mastery . To After Hours* θα είναι το πρώτο single.

**************

This door is always open,
This door is always open,
No one has the guts to shut us out.
But if we have to go now,
I guess there's always hope that,
Some place will be serving after hours.

This night is winding down but
Time means nothing,
As always at this hour
Time means nothing,
One final final round cos
Time means nothing,
Say that you'll stay
Say that you'll stay

We're finally drunk enough that,
We're finally soaking up,
The hours that everyone else throws away.
And if we have to go now,
I guess there's always hope,
Tomorrow night will be more of the same.

This night is winding down but
Time means nothing,
As always at this hour
Time means nothing,
One final final round cos
Time means nothing,
Say that you'll stay
Say that you'll stay
Say that you'll stay.

We're all right where we're supposed to be,
We're all right where we're supposed to be,
We're all right where we're supposed to be,
(Time means nothing)
We're all right where we're supposed to be,
(Time means nothing)

This door is always open,
This door is always open,
No one has the guts to shut us out.
No one has the guts to shut us out.

Time means nothing,
Time means nothing,
One final final round cos
Time means nothing,
Say that you'll stay
Say that you'll stay
Say that you'll stay.

Alanis Morissette - Underneath

Το Underneath θα είναι το 1ο single για to καινούριο LP της Alanis Morissette Flavors Of Entaglement που αναμένεται να κυκλοφορήσει τον Απρίλιο.

ΞΞΞ ΑΜ ΞΞΞ

Look at us in this kitchen
Look at us rallying all our defenses
Look at us waging war in our bedroom
Look at us jumping ship in our dialogues

There is no difference
In what we’re doing in here
That doesn’t show up as big as it does out there
So why spend all our time undressing our bandages
When we’ve the ultimate key to the cause
right here all underneath.

Look at us form our cliques in our sandbox
Look at us being cruel kids with both our hearts blocked
Look at us turn away from all the rough spots
Look at dictatorship on my own block

There is no difference
In what we’re doing in here
That doesn’t show up as big as it does out there
So why spend all our time undressing our bandages
When we’ve the ultimate key to the cause
right here all underneath.

How I’ve spun my wheels
With carts before my horse
And shine on the outside springs from gloom
Spotlight on these seeds of simpler reasons
And score bourne into corn, stretching my limit

There is no difference
In what we’re doing in here
That doesn’t show up as big as it does out there
So why spend all our time undressing our bandages
When we’ve the ultimate key to the cause
right here all underneath.

Morrissey - That's How People Grow Up

Αυτό είναι That's How People Grow Up που είχε παρουσιάσει live το περασμένο καλοκαίρι και κυκλοφορεί σε studio έκδοση αυτή τη φορά.
/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/
I was wasting my time
Trying to fall in love
Disappointment came to me and
Booted me and bruised and hurt me

But that's how people grow up
That's how people grow up

I was wasting my time
Looking for love
Someone must look at me and
See their sunlit dream
I was wasting my time
Praying for love
For a love that never comes
From someone who does not exist

And that's how people grow up
That's how people grow up

Let me live
Before I die
No not me
Not I

I was wasting my life
Always thinking about myself
Someone on their deathbed said
There are other sorrows too

I was driving my car
I crashed and broke my spine
So yes there are things worse in life than
Never being someone's sweetie

That's how people grow up
That's how people grow up

That's how people grow up
That's how people grow up

As for me I'm okay
For now anyway

Siouxsie And The Banshees - Happy House

Το Happy House βρισκόταν στο Kaleidoscope [1980]

***SATB***
This is the happy house-we're happy here in the happy house oh it's such fun
We've come to play in the happy house
and waste a day in the happy house-it never rains

We've come to scream in the happy house We're in a dream in the happy house
We're all quite sane

This is the happy house-we're happy here There's room for you if you say "I do"
but don't say no or you'll have to go
we've done no wrong with our blinkers on It's safe and calm if you sing along

This is the happy house-we're happy here in the happy house. To forget ourselves-and pretend all's well There is no hell.

Duran Duran - Zoom In

Αυτό θα επέλεγα για single από το Red Carpet Massacre

)))))DD(((((

Zooming in
Stood on the line
You understand
I've been waiting forever
Come rain come shine
In the wind in the snow
In the filty weather
You've got it all worked out
Ya but it knocks you out
But I'm zooming in

Now she arrives
In a flaming crash
Like a falling star
Heading straight for the dive
Gonna make some cash
With the avatar

You got it all worked out
I know you know
I don't want you to go
Ya but it knocks you out
I'm zooming in on you on you

Don't look back you're a heart attack x 4
You've got it all worked out
Ya but it knocks you out

We're not alone
In the 2nd life
There are millions like us
Right here
In the stones
In the air too bright
All the new insiders

You've got it all worked out
I know you know
I don't want you to go
Ya but it knocks you out
I'm zooming in on you on you

Na na na na na na
I know you know
I don't want you to go
Na na na na na na
I'm zooming in and out on you

The Killers - Tranquilize

Time it tells living in my home town,
Wedding bells they begin easy
Live it down, baby don’t talk that much,
Baby knows, but baby don’t tease me.
In the park we could go walking,
Drowned in the dark or we could go sailing
On the sea

Always here, always on time
Close call, was it love or was it just easy
Money talks when people need shoes and socks,
Steady boys, I'm thinking she needs me

I was just sipping on something sweet
I don’t need political process

I got this feeling that they‘re gonna break down the door
I got this feeling they they’re gonna come back for more
See I was thinking that I lost my mind
But it’s been getting to me all this time
And it don’t stop dragging me down

Silently reflection turns my world to stone
Patiently correction leaves us all alone
And sometimes I’m a travel man
But tonight this engine's failing

I still hear the children playing

Kick the can, kick the can, skip and blackjack
Steal a car and ring a round-rosey,
Rock and roll, candyland, boogeyman,
Run away and give me your sneakers

Acid rain, when Abel looked up at Cain
We began the weeping and wailing
A hurried high from pestilence pills and pride,
It’s a shame, we could have gone sailing
But heaven knows,
Heaven knows everything
Tranquilize

I got this feeling that they‘re gonna break down the door
I got this feeling they they’re gonna come back for more
See I was thinking that I lost my mind
But it’s been getting to me all this time
And it don’t stop dragging me down

Silently reflection turns my world to stone
Patiently correction leaves us all alone
And sometimes I’m travel man
But tonight this engine's failing

I still hear the children playing
Dead beat dancers come to us and stay

Cause i don’t care where you've been
And I don’t care what you've seen
We’re the ones who still believe
And we’re looking for a page
In that lifeless book of hope
Where a dream might help you cope
With the Bushes and the bombs
aha, Tranquilized.

David McWilliams / Μαrc Almond - The Days of Pearly Spencer

Το The Days of Pearly Spencer Το διασκεύασαν θαυμάσια οι The Vietnam Veterans που εμφανίζονταν χθες στο Rodeo, όπως και ο Μαrc Almond :

""""""~~~~~~~~~""""""

A tenement, a dirty street
Walked and worn by shoeless feet
Inside it's long and so complete
Watched by a shivering sun

Old eyes in a small child's face
Watching as the shadows race
Through walls and cracks and leave no trace
And daylight's brightness shuns

The days of Pearly Spencer
The race is almost run

Nose pressed hard on frosted glass
Gazing as the swollen mass
On concrete fields where grows no grass
Stumbles blindly on

Iron trees smother the air
But withering they stand and stare
Through eyes that neither know nor care
Where the grass is gone

The days of Pearly Spencer
The race is almost run

Pearly where's your milk white skin
What's that stubble on your chin
It's buried in the rot gut gin
You played and lost not won

You played a house that can't be beat
Now look your head's bowed in defeat
You walked too far along the street
Where only rats can run

The days of Pearly Spencer
The race is almost run

The days of Pearly Spencer
The race is almost run

The days of Pearly Spencer
The race is almost run

Susheela Raman - Voodoo Child

" ...We chose songs which were mostly album tracks, rather than classic singles, that we had been listening to over the last few years, sometimes rediscovering them as one does in this era of changing formats, hence “33 1/3” sprung to mind as a title. A kind of homage to the well-attested pleasures to the ‘long player’, of owning some tangible aretfact of music’s immaterial magic, and to the obsolete warmth of vinyl; nowadays our ears are being cheapened by horrid data-compressed mp3s. Also, an album can be a complete, coherent experience in a way that our mix and match culture now has no patience for. Sounding old? 33 1/3 was also my age as we were finishing the album."

Fairouz First Interview in 17 years

Fairouz First Interview in 17 years.

Fairouz's last interview was in 1990 with Al Shabaka magazine.
But now she speaks again in this interview with a Greek newspaper.

Photobucket

Journalist:
Do you miss the old Beirut?

FAIROUZ:
Of course I do, I miss a lot.

Journalist:
What do you miss about it?

FAIROUZ:
The peace, the beauty -in every level-the calmness. Things that you could see everywhere around you but don’t exist anymore. Life was pleasant, happy and full of simple things that you cant determine or explain, because you live them just like your breath. You can only feel some things not describe them.

Journalist:
Why do you think the western elements that you added in Anatolian music were so much appreciated and accepted?

FAIROUZ:
Cause my people are very open to all nations and all civilizations and artistic beauty have many faces, not just one.

Journalist:
What I feel as a Greek is a deep and intense melancholy in your voice-even in your patriotic songs. Is it true or I just don’t understand?

FAIROUZ:
It is true, you are absolutely right.

Journalist:
Why is that?

FAIROUZ:
The pick of happiness is sorrow. Its something I believe deeply and it comes out when I sing. My song doesn’t describe the beauty I was talking about before. The country I loved exists only in my songs; it has nothing to do with the reality I live in.

Journalist:
Is this the reason why you don’t smile often?

FAIRUZ:
And this. Its also cause of the songs, they don’t speak for happy things. Smiling while singing them would be weird.

Journalist:
Is there something that makes you happy today?

FAIRUZ:
The fact that there isn’t war and unjustice in many parts of the world. The mind, in order to think creative, have to live in peace and safety and calmness and to not need to care constantly for such things.

Journalist:
Is there something you would like to change in your country's condition today?

FAIRUZ:
The immigration. If I could, I would stop the immigration.

Journalist:
How do you spend your summers?

FAIRUZ:
Depends on what’s behind every summer. I may have to concert, appear in a festival, or hiding in a shelter.

Journalist:
During summer, you usually sing in BAALBEK. How come you chose that mystic place?

FAIRUZ:
The place chose me, I followed.

Journalist:
The fact you unite and move all the Arab world, does it make you feel responsible?

FAIRUZ:
Of course.

Journalist:
And how do you express that responsibility?

FAIRUZ:
With great fear, to not seem less than what they expect to see. If not do my best then not disappoint them.

Journalist:
In this world, the Arabic, is nationalism a bless or a curse?

FAIRUZ:
Whatever its name may be, nationalism is something important and necessary. Our country is our big home. You accept it as it is.

Journalist:
What did you do during the Israeli bombing of BEIRUT?

FAIRUZ:
The war started the same night that my concert would begin in BAALBEK; the July of 2006.It was canceled. We went back home running, under aircraft invasions, we hide and waited till it ends.

Journalist:
Today that there is no war, what is your greatest fear?

FAIRUZ:
I am worried for my job, my kids, our lives, and our health. I worry for everything.

Journalist:
What do you like the most in a person’s character?

FAIRUZ:
His honesty and his generosity.

Journalist:
What do you know for modern GREECE?

FAIRUZ:
Unfortunately not much. The GREECE I know is the country of ancient history and mythology. I admire a lot Maria Callas. I like her voice and I appreciate her personality. I have her as a synonym of GREECE.I am also moved by the songs of Mikis Theodorakis and Chatzidakis.

Journalist:
Do you know ATHENS?

FAIRUZ:
No, it’s my first time here.

Journalist:
You don’t like to travel?

FAIRUZ:
No.

Journalist:
Isn’t there a journey you want to make?

FAIRUZ:
My best journey is my song, wherever they may take me, no matter where I really am.

Journalist:
If you had to live somewhere outside LEBANON, where would that be?

FAIRUZ:
Jibal al Sawan

Journalist:
How was New York?

FAIRUZ:
New York isn’t waiting to hear what my opinion is about it!

Journalist:
Even if you are traveling in Arabic countries, isn’t there things you like?

FAIRUZ:
Of course there are, I like their generosity and their kindness, those that are the basic characteristics of Middle East. Middle eastern people are very sentimental, that might be their greatest weakness.

Journalist:
Are there any moments you feel tired of all these civil conflicts?

FAIRUZ:
Yes, I am tired

Journalist:
Would you like to withdraw?

FAIRUZ:
How can anyone withdraw from his reality? Wherever you go it follows you.

Journalist:
Are there any international personalities that you admire?

FAIRUZ:
I admire Gandhi. As a human being, his passion for peace, the way he tried to succeed it. His way was unique, doesn’t remind anything of the ugliness of our world.

Journalist:
What gave you the greatest sorrow in your life?

FAIRUZ:
The early loss of my husband, Assi. The void he left in arts, in our family.

Journalist:
Which phrase can summarize the philosophy of your life?

FAIRUZ:
Whatever may happen to you, never give up? There is always a light in the end, close or far, it doesn’t matter.

Journalist:
Do you pray?

FAIRUZ:
I pray all the time.

Journalist:
What do you say in your prayers?

FAIRUZ:
If I tell you what may prayers say, it wont be prayers anymore but news.

Journalist:
What is the pick of your life?

FAIRUZ:
My job. Almost all my life is my job.

Journalist:
But something is bothering you, like you don’t feel complete.

FAIRUZ:
The word completeness doesn’t exist in my life. Fear has covered everything; even those that are meant to give happiness and satisfaction.

Journalist:
And God? In this country (of LEBANON) with the remarkable religious freedom, in which language does your God speak?

FAIRUZ:
My God doesn’t speak, He listens.

Journalist:
Did you ever read something, a phrase that changed your life?

FAIRUZ:
No, life is too complicated to be changed by one phrase.

Journalist:
Wasn’t it ever simple?

FAIRUZ:
Maybe. Sometime

Journalist:
In your first years, you had met Oum Kalthoum and Dalida. What do you remember from those days?

FAIRUZ:
Memories of beautiful days in a happy time. Times that we lived and unfortunately will never come back.

Journalist:
What’s the most valuable thing you still possess?

FAIRUZ:
My voice.

Journalist:
What’s in this voice that people from allover the world love to listen?

FAIRUZ:
I can’t tell you that. You will have to ask those who listen to it.

Journalist:
Is there any English song you sing to when you are alone?

FAIRUZ:
Not one song but many parts of them. Strangers in the Night, Silent Night, I Believe, and I could also add the In The Night (smiles). In general all parts that talk about night.

Journalist:
Why the night?

FAIRUZ:
Night fits a lot.

Journalist:
What would you like Athenians to know tomorrow that they will watch your concert?

FAIRUZ:
Just that I am coming. And I hope they will like my song

Journalist:
When you will be singing you will be watching ACROPOLIS under the moonlight. Does this symbol mean something to you?

FAIRUZ:
ACROPOLIS isn’t something foreign to me, even if I am coming to ATEHNS for the first time. I think it will bring to my mind the feelings of all those great artists who have stood up in this theatre before me, the wealth of Greek culture through ages, the glory and the feeling of awe that fit so many "giants”. The moonlight will be the string that will unite us through time.

Fairouz was the first Arab to preform in the Acropolis. She sang to the Lebanese Troops and returned twice to the stage after her first exit.

Stereophonics - It Means Nothing

Το single των Stereophonics από το πρόσφατο άλμπουμ τους Pull the Pin.

=#=#=#=#=
Did we lose ourselves again?
Do we take in what's been said?
Do we take the time to be
All the things we said we'd be
And we bury heads in sand
But my future's in my hands
It means nothing
It means nothing

You can find yourself a God
Believe in which one you want
'Cos they love you all the same
They just go by different names
When we fly our flag today
Are you proud or just ashamed?
It means nothing
It means nothing

It means nothing
It means nothing
It means nothing

If I haven't got you
If I haven't got you
If I haven't got you
If I haven't got you

And the sun sets in the sky
You're the apple of my eye
If the bomb goes off again
In my brain or on the train
I hope that I'm with you
'Cos I wouldn't know what to do
It means nothing
It means nothing

It means nothing
It means nothing
It means nothing
If I haven't got you
If I haven't got you
If I haven't got you
If I haven't got you

Linkin Park - What I've Done

Από το πρόσφατο LP των Linkin Park, Minutes to Midnight (2007).

#@#@#@#@#@#
In this farewell
There’s no blood
There’s no alibi
‘Cause I’ve drawn regret
From the truth
Of a thousand lies

[Pre-Chorus:]
So let mercy come
And wash away
What I’ve done

[Chorus:]
I'll face myself
To cross out what i’ve become
Erase myself
And let go of what i’ve done

Put to rest
What you thought of me
While I clean this slate
With the hands of uncertainty

[Pre-Chorus]

[Chorus]

For what I’ve done
I start again
And whatever pain may come
Today this ends
I’m forgiving what I’ve done!!!

[Chorus]

What I’ve done
Forgiving what I’ve done

You are astronomical
Fans of alcohol
So welcome in

Earth rising in the east
And setting in the west
All waving flags

We're all waving flags now
Waving flags
But don't be scared

You, you're only here
For a while
And it's all a joke
Oh it's all a joke

Are you of legal drinking age?
On minimum wage?
Well welcome in

From across the Vistula
You've come so very far
All waving flags

We're all waving flags now
Waving flags
Well don't be scared

You, you're only here
For a while
And it's all a joke
Oh it's all a joke

Beer is not dark
Beer is not light
It just tastes good
Especially tonight

Oh welcome in

So welcome in
We are barbarians
Oh welcome in
Across the Carpathians
Oh welcome in
We are from Slavia

Thin Lizzy - The Holy War

Από το Thunder and Lightning (1983) που ήταν το τελευταίο studio LP των Thin Lizzy με το Phil Lynott.
****: TL :***

If you will adore me
Bow before me and praise my name
If you place no god before me
Then all I have is yours to claim

And if God is in the heavens
Why did God let children die
If you don't ask these questions
There is no reasons why

We are chosen
We are one
We are frightened of no one
And no one will win this war
This is the way
This is the law

All the visions shown before you
All the kingdoms and the thrones
All are yours if you bow before me and adore me
All this you can own

There are those that will go to Heaven
There are those that will never win
No one knows what will happen
There are those that turn to sin

We are chosen
We are one
We are frightened of no one
And no one will win this war
This is the way
This is the law

(Solo)

We are chosen
We are one
We are frightened of no one
And no one will win this war
This is the way
This is the law

We are chosen

The devil is in hell with the demons
This is the Holy War

They lead us to our temptation
Lead us, take our souls
There is no evil in salvation
There is evil in us all

Just as Satan tempted Jesus
And Jesus slips and falls
He is a station on The Cross now
He is dying to save us all

We are chosen
We are one
We are frightened of no one
And no one will win this war
This is the way
This is the law

We are chosen
We are one
We are frightened of no one
And no one will win this war
This is the way
This is the law

We are chosen
We are one
We are frightened of no one
And no one will win this war
This is the way
This is the law

We are chosen
We are one
We are frightened of no one
And no one will win this war
This is the way
This is the law

If God is in Heaven, won't You save me now
Oh Lord forgive them for what they've done
Lost children of Babylon
Oh Allah oh no oh no (?)

This is the Holy War

Thin Lizzy - Bad Reputation

Από το Bad Reputation (1977)

****: TL :***
You got a bad reputation
That's the word out on the town
It gives a certain fascination
But it can only bring you down

You better turn yourself around
Turn yourself around
Turn it upside down
Turn yourself around

You had bad breaks well that's tough luck
You play too hard too much rough stuff
You're too sly so cold
That bad reputation has made you old

Turn yourself around
Turn yourself around
Turn it upside down
Turn yourself around

Thin Lizzy - Emerald

Από το Jailbreak (1976)

****: TL :***
Down from the glen came the marching men
With their shields and their swords
To fight the fight they believed to be right
Overthrow the overlords

To the town where there was plenty
They brought plunder, swords and flame
When they left the town was empty
Children would never play again

From their graves I heard the fallen
Above the battle cry
By that bridge near the border
There were many more to die

Then onward over the mountain
And outward towards the sea
They had come to claim the Emerald
Without it they could not leave

Thin lizzy - Still in Love With You

Από το Nightlife [1974]
****: TL :***
Think I'll just fall to pieces
If I don't find something else to do
This sadness never ceases
I'm still in love with you

My head, it keeps on reeling
It's got me in a crazy spin
Darling, darling, darling
Is this the end?

Still in love with you

They say time has a way of healing
Dries all the tears from your eyes
But darling it's this empty feeling
My heart can't disguise

After all that we've been through
I try my best but it's no use
I guess I'll keep on loving you
Is this the end?

Now that it's all over, woman
There's something I think you should know
Baby, baby, think it over
Just one more time before you go

Call on me baby
If there's anything I can do for you
Call on me baby
Help me see it through

I'm still in love with you

Thin Lizzy - The Boys Are Back In Town

Κι αυτό από το Jailbreak (1976)

****: TL :***

Guess who just got back today?
Them wild-eyed boys that had been away
Haven't changed, have much to say
But man, I still think them cats are crazy

They were asking if you were around
How you was, where you could be found
Told them you were living downtown
Driving all the old men crazy

The boys are back in town
The boys are back in town
I said
The boys are back in town
The boys are back in town
The boys are back in town
The boys are back in town
The boys are back in town
The boys are back in town

You know that chick that used to dance a lot
Every night she'd be on the floor shaking what she'd got
Man when I tell you she was cool, she was red hot
I mean she was steaming

And that time over at Johnny's place
Well this chick got up and she slapped Johnny's face
Man we just fell about the place
If that chick don't want to know, forget her

The boys are back in town
The boys are back in town
I said
The boys are back in town
The boys are back in town
The boys are back in town
The boys are back in town
The boys are back in town
oh yeah iwana hear you sing
the boys are back in town

Spread the word around
Guess who's back in town

You spread the word around

Friday night they'll be dressed to kill
Down at Dino's bar and grill
The drink will flow and blood will spill
And if the boys want to fight, you'd better let them

That jukebox in the corner blasting out my favorite song
The nights are getting warmer, it won't be long
Won't be long till summer comes
Now that the boys are here again

The boys are back in town
The boys are back in town
The boys are back in town
The boys are back in town
The boys are back in town
The boys are back in town
Spread the word around
The boys are back in town
The boys are back in town
The boy's are back, the boys are back

The boy's are back in town again
Been hangin' down at Dino's
The boy's are back in town again

Thin Lizzy - Dedication

Το τραγούδι εμφανίστηκε σε άλμπουμ για πρώτη φορά το 1991 στο Dedication: The Very Best of Thin Lizzy

****: TL :***
This is dedicated to the woman I love
Wherever she stands - my dedication
This is dedicated to the millions
That are starving from hunger - in dedication

Dedication
Dedication
I dedicate it, dedicate it
Dedication

This is dedicated to the front lines that are dying
For dedication
This is dedicated to child of mine wherever she stands
I give a dedication

Dedication
Dedication
I dedicate it, dedicate it
Dedication

This is dedicated for the children
That are starving (?)
I dedicate this to the millions
I dedicate it to you

Oh yeah
A dedication
Oh yeah
Oh yeah
Oh yeah
Oh yeah
Dedicated

This is dedicated to the woman I love
(I dedicate this song, to the woman I love)
Wherever she stands, I give her dedication
(Wherever she stands)
This is dedicated, to the millions, that are starving - in dedication
(There are millions, they are starving from hunger, oh...)

Dedication (I dedicate it)
Dedication (this song is for you)
I dedicate it (dedicate it), dedicate it (dedicate it)
Dedication (dedication)

Dedication (to the woman I love)
Dedication (to the child I knew)
I dedicate it (dedicate it), dedicate it (dedicate it)
Dedication (dedication)

Dedication (I dedicate it)

Thin Lizzy - Johnny

Κι αυτό από το Johnny the Fox (1976)

****: TL :***

Somewhere on the waterfront
Johnny's hiding with a gun
Swears he'll kill any man that tells his story
He's not sorry for what he's done

He broke into a drugstore
To cure his daily need
He didn't mean to shoot the guard
But he was blinded by the greed

Oh Johnny

You see that nun, she's his sister
She doesn't know that he's gone bad
When they told it to his father
It drove the old man mad

Just as his mother warned him
From her dying bed
It's alright to lose your heart
But never lose your head

Oh Johnny

Now the cops have got him surrounded
And he doesn't stand a hope
He wonders how he could be in so much trouble
Over just a little dope

Five to one he gets away
That's the odds I'm going to give
Five to four they blast him away
Three to one he's going to live

Oh Johnny

Back in the alley where he was slain
I thought I heard something move
Beside the trash can lay a heart and chain
The picture had been removed

Just another juiced up junkie
Looking for a bed
It's alright to lose your heart
But never lose your head

Oh Johnny

Thin Lizzy - Don't Believe A Word

Από το Johnny the Fox (1976)

****: TL :***
Don't believe me if I tell you
Not a word of this is true
Don't believe me if I tell you
Especially if I tell you I'm in love with you

Don't believe me if I tell you
That I wrote this song for you
There just might be some other silly pretty girl
I'm singing to

Don't believe a word
For words are so easily spoken
And your heart is just like that promise
Made to be broken

Don't believe a word
'Cause words can tell lies
And lies are no comforting
When there's tears in your eyes

Don't believe me if I tell you
Not a word of this is true
Don't believe me if I tell you
Especially if I tell you that I'm in love with you

Don't believe a word

Thin lizzy - Dancing in the Moonlight

Aπό το Bad Reputation (1977)

****: TL :***

When I passed you in the doorway
You took me with a glance
I should have took that last bus home
But I asked you for a dance

Now we go steady to the pictures
I always get chocolate stains on my pants
My father he's going crazy
Say's I'm living in a trance

But I'm dancing in the moonlight
It's caught me in its spotlight
It's alright, alright
Dancing in the moonlight
On this long hot summer night

It's three o'clock in the morning
And I'm on the streets again
I disobeyed another warning
I should have been in by ten

Now I won't get out until Sunday
I'll have to say I stayed with friends
But it's a habit worth forming
If it means to justify the end

And I'm walkin home
The last bus is long gone,
And I'm dancing in the moonlight

Thin Lizzy - Whiskey in the Jar

To Whiskey in the Jar κυκλοφόρησε σα single [1972 & 1973] και ήταν η πρώτη μεγάλη επιτυχία των Thin Lizzy.

==========
As I was goin over the cork and kerry mountains
I saw captain farrell and his money he was countin
I first produced my pistol and then produced my rapier
I said stand and deliver or the devil he may take ya

Musha ring dum a doo dum a da
Whack for my daddy-o
Whack for my daddy-o
Theres whiskey in the jar-o

I took all of his money and it was a pretty penny
I took all of his money and I brought it home to molly
She swore that shed love me, never would she leave me
But the devil take that woman for you know she tricked me easy

Being drunk and weary I went to mollys chamber
Takin my money with me and I never knew the danger
For about six or maybe seven in walked captain farrell
I jumped up, fired off my pistols and I shot him with both barrels

Now some men like the fishin and some men like the fowlin
And some men like ta hear a cannon ball a roarin
Me I like sleepin specially in my mollys chamber
But here I am in prison, here I am with a ball and chain yeah

Phil Lynott & Gary Moore - Parisienne Walkways

Από μια άλλη παλιότερη συνεργασία των δύο φίλων στο LP Gary Moore Back on the Streets, (1978), "γεννήθηκε" το υπέροχο Parisienne Walkways

-+-+-+-+-+-+-
I remember paris in 49
The champs elyses
Saint michel and old beaujolais wine

And I recall
That you were mine
In those parisienne days

Looking back at the photographs
Those summer days
Spent outside corner cafes

Oh I could write you paragraphs
About my own parisienne days

Phil Lynott & Gary Moore - Out in the Fields

Μια από τις τελευταίες ηχογραφήσεις του Phil Lynott ήταν στο LP του παλιού του συνεργάτη Gary Moore, Run for Cover, (1985) . Στο LP ο Phil Lynott συμμετείχε και στο Military Man ενώ την ίδια περίοδο ξαναηχογράφησαν μαζί το κλασσικό κομμάτι των Thin Lizzy, Still in Love with You.

-__________-

It doesn't matter if you're wrong or if you're right

It makes no difference if you're black or if you're white

All men are equal till the victory is won

No colour or religion ever stopped a bullet from a gun.

Out in the fields - the fighting has begun

Out on the streets - they're falling one by one

Out from the skies - a thousand more wiII die each day

Death is just a heartbeat away.

It doesn't matter if you're left or to the right

Don't try to hide behind the cause for which you fight

There'll be no prisollers taken wheIl the day is done.
No flag or uniform ever stopped a bullet from a gun.
Out in the fields - the fighting has begun
. . .

There's no communication
no one to take the blame.
The cries of ev'ry nation have fallen on deaf ears again.

Out in the fields - out in the fields -
they are falling one by one.
Out in the fields -
no flag has ever stopped a bullet from a gun.
Death is just a heartbeat away.
Out in the fields - a heartbeat away

Out in the fields - death is just a heartbeat away

Out in the fields - a heartbeat away - out in the fields.

Out in the fields - the fighting has begun

Out on the streets - they're falling one by one

Out from the skies - a thousand more will die each day - out!

Phil Lynott

Phil Lynott - Last TV interview, December 1985:
