The first time, the first time
The first time, the first time

Well can I say amen?
I never thought, this could happen again
And I hope this feeling lasts
Can tomorrow feel like it did back in the past?
Before we knew it too well
But only time, time will tell
If tomorrow feels like

The first time, the first time
The first time, the first time

We live on learning from the past
And I know those feelings, that never seem to last
But can we put it on again?
And have it feel as special
As it did back then?
When we discovered it
Before we knew it well?
But only time, time will tell if tomorrow feels like

The first time, the first time, time, yeah time
The first time, the first time
The first time, the first time

Ooh, I wonder where the time went?
Ooh, I wonder where the time went?
Ooh, I wonder where the time went?
Ooh, I wonder where the time went?
Ooh, I wonder where the time went?
Ooh, I wonder where the time went?
Yeah

Ooh, I wonder where the time went?
Ooh, I wonder where the time went?
Ooh, I wonder where the time went?
Ooh, I wonder where the time went?
Yeah

U2 - Ordinary Love

Το πρώτο τραγούδι που κυκλοφορούν οι U2 από το 2010 έχει γραφτεί προς τιμήν του Nelson Mandela  και θα ακούγεται στη βιογραφική ταινία Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom.

The sea wants to kiss the golden shore
The sunlight warms your skin
All the beauty that's been lost before wants to find us again

I can't fight you any more, it's you I'm fighting for
The sea throws rock together but time leaves us polished stones

We can't fall any further
If we can't feel ordinary love
And we can't reach any higher,
If we can't deal with ordinary love

Birds fly high in the summer sky and rest on the breeze.
The same wind will take care of you and I.
We'll build our house in the trees.

Your heart is on my sleeve
Did you put it there with a magic marker?
For years I would believe that the would couldn't wash it away

'Cause

We can't fall any further
If we can't feel ordinary love
And we can't reach any higher

Are we tough enough for ordinary love?

We can't fall any further, if
We can't feel ordinary love
And we can't reach any higher,
If we can't deal with ordinary love

I have crossed the mystic desert
To snap pictures of the poor
I've invited them to brunch
Let them crash out on my floor.

There's sunshine in my veins
My kitchen's filled with flies
I'm crying out in vain
Like a little African child.

Trapped in me
There's an African child
Trapped in me
There's a little African child trapped in me.

All these rooms are cluttered with the spoils of my fame
My doors and windows shuttered I just can't keep out the rain
There's sunshine down in hell
My kitchen's filled with flies
I'm crying out for help
Like a little African child.

Trapped in me
There's an African child
Trapped in me
There's a little African child trapped in me.

All these blowjobs in limousines
What do they matters
What do they mean
To the little African child
Trapped in me.

[African chant]

African child
Trapped in me
There's an African child
Trapped in me
There's a little African child trapped in me.
There's a little African child trapped in me.
There's a little African child trapped in me.

Nick Cave & Warren Ellis - The Beach

Breaking Benjamin - I Will Not Bow

Για το soundtrack της ταινίας Surrogates επιλέχθηκε το I Will Not Bow, πρώτο σινγκλ από το νέο LP τους Dear Agony που κυκλοφορεί στις 29 Σεπτεμβρίου.

Now the dark begins to rise
Save your breath, it's far from over
Leave the lost and dead behind
Now's your chance to run for cover

I don't wanna change the world
I just wanna leave it colder
Light the fuse and burn it up
Take the path that leads to nowhere

All is lost again
But I'm not giving in

I will not bow
I will not break
I will shut the world away
I will not fall
I will not fade
I will take your breath away

FALL!!!

Watch the end through dying eyes
Now the dark is taking over
Show me where forever dies
Take the fall and run to Heaven

All is lost again
But I'm not giving in

I will not bow
I will not break
I will shut the world away
I will not fall
I will not fade
I will take your breath away

And I'll survive, paranoid
I have lost the will to change
And I'm not proud, cold-blooded fake
I will shut the world away

I will not bow
I will not break
I will shut the world away
I will not fall
I will not fade
I will take your breath away

And I'll survive; paranoid
I have lost the will to change
And I'm not proud, cold-blooded fake
I will shut the world away

FALL!!!

Sinéad O'connor - Only you (The Young Victoria's Soundtrack)

Το ερωτικό θέμα της ταινίας The Young Victoria τραγουδά η Sinéad O'Connor.

My love
Your love
Has opened up a world I’ve never known
All hope
Was found
A place I never dreamed I would go
Feels like only yesterday I had locked my heart away
Safe behind a castle of stone
Sure I’d always be alone
Only you know how
To hear me through the silence
You reach a part of me that no one else can see
Forever true there’s only me and only you
Only me and you

In your face I trust
With you beside me I am standing strong
One truth
Two hearts
You took my life and made it beautiful
So you dared to let me shine
Even walk a step behind
Willingly you give yourself to me
Knowing who I was born to be
Only you know how
To hear me through the silence
You reach a part of me that no one else can see
Forever true there’s only me
And only you
Only me and you

Only you know how
To hear me through the silence
You reach a part of me that no one else can see
Forever true there’s only me
And only you
Only me and you

They're
Selling postcards
Of the hanging
They're painting
The passports brown
The beauty parlor
Is filled with sailors
The circus is in town
Here comes
The blind commissioner
They've got him in a trance
One hand is tied
To the tight-rope walker
The other is in his pants
And the riot squad
They're restless
They need somewhere to go
As Lady
And I look out tonight
From Desolation Row

Cinderella
She seems so easy
"It takes one to know one"
She smiles
And puts her hands
In her back pockets
Bette Davis style
And in comes Romeo
He's moaning
"You Belong to Me I Believe"
And someone says
" You're in the wrong place
My friend
You better leave"
And the only sound that's left
After the ambulances go
Is Cinderella sweeping up
On Desolation Row

Now the moon is almost hidden
The stars are beginning to hide
The fortunetelling lady
Has even taken
All her things inside
All except for Cain and Abel
And the hunchback of Notre Dame
Everybody is making love
Or else expecting rain
And the Good Samaritan
He's dressing
He's getting ready
For the show
He's going
To the carnival tonight
On Desolation Row

Now Ophelia
She's 'neath the window
For her I feel so afraid
On her twenty-second birthday
She already is an old maid

To her death
Is quite romantic
She wears an iron vest
Her profession's her religion
Her sin is her lifelessness
And though her eyes
Are fixed upon
Noah's great rainbow
She spends her time peeking
Into Desolation Row

Einstein
Disguised as Robin Hood
With his memories in a trunk
Passed this way an hour ago
With his friend
A jealous monk
He looked
So immaculately frightful
As he bummed a cigarette
Then he went off
Sniffing drainpipes
And reciting the alphabet
Now you
Would not think
To look at him
But he was famous long ago
For playing
The electric violin
On Desolation Row

Dr. Filth, he keeps his world
Inside of a leather cup
But all his sexless patients
They're trying to blow it up
Now his nurse, some local loser
She's in charge
Of the cyanide hole
And she also keeps
The cards that read
"Have Mercy on His Soul"
They all play
On penny whistles
You can hear them blow
If you lean
Your head out far enough
From Desolation Row

Across the street
They've nailed the curtains
They're getting ready
For the feast
The Phantom of the Opera
A perfect image of a priest
They're spoonfeeding Casanova
To get him to feel more assured
Then they'll kill him
With self-confidence
After poisoning him with words

And the Phantom's
Shouting to skinny girls
"Get Outa Here
If You Don't Know
Casanova is just being
Punished for going
To Desolation Row"

Now at midnight all the agents
And the superhuman crew
Come out and round up everyone
That knows more than they do
Then they bring them to the factory
Where the heart-attack machine
Is strapped across their shoulders
And then the kerosene
Is brought down from the castles
By insurance men who go
Check to see
That nobody is escaping
To Desolation Row

Praise be to Nero's Neptune
The Titanic sails at dawn
And everybody's shouting
"Which Side Are You On?"
And Ezra Pound and T. S. Eliot
Fighting in the captain's tower
While calypso singers laugh at them
And fishermen hold flowers
Between the windows of the sea
Where lovely mermaids flow
And nobody has to think too much
About Desolation Row

Yes
I received your letter yesterday
(About the time the door knob broke)
When you asked how I was doing
Was that some kind of joke?
All these people that you mention
Yes, I know them, they're quite lame
I had to rearrange their faces
And give them all another name
Right now I can't read too good
Don't send me no more letters no
Not unless you mail them
From Desolation Row

I've Seen It All

που υπήρχε στο soundtrack του βραβευμένου Dancer in the Dark (2000)

I've seen it all, I have seen the trees,
I've seen the willow leaves dancing in the breeze
I've seen a friend killed by a friend,
And lives that were over before they were spent.
I've seen what I was - I know what I'll be
I've seen it all - there is no more to see!

You haven't seen elephants, kings or Peru!
I'm happy to say I had better to do
What about China? Have you seen the Great Wall?
All walls are great, if the roof doesn't fall!

And the man you will marry?
The home you will share?
To be honest, I really don't care...

You've never been to Niagara Falls?
I have seen water, its water, that's all...
The Eiffel Tower, the Empire State?
My pulse was as high on my very first date!
Your grandson's hand as he plays with your hair?
To be honest, I really don't care...

I've seen it all, I've seen the dark
I've seen the brightness in one little spark.
I've seen what I chose and I've seen what I need,
And that is enough, to want more would be greed.
I've seen what I was and I know what I'll be
I've seen it all - there is no more to see!

You've seen it all and all you have seen
You can always review on your own little screen
The light and the dark, the big and the small
Just keep in mind - you need no more at all
You've seen what you were and know what you'll be
You've seen it all - there is no more to see

***********
JW: Another ringer with the slick trigger finger for Her Majesty
AK: Another one with the golden tone voice and then your fantasy
JW: Another bill from a killer turned a thrill into a tragedy

CHORUS:
A door left open
A woman walking by
A drop in the water
A look in the eye
A phone on the table
A man on your side
Someone that you think that you can trust is just
Another way to die

JW: Another tricky little gun giving solace to the one that will never see the sunshine
AK: Another inch of your life sacrificed for your brother in the nick of time
JW: Another dirty money, heaven sent honey turning on a dime

[CHORUS]

It’s just another way to…

Hey…

It’s just another way to…

You’ve got to….

JW: Another girl with her finger on the world singing do what you wanna hear
AK: Another gun thrown down and surrendered took away your fear
JW & AK: Another man that stands right behind you looking in the mirror

[CHORUS]

It’s just another way…

Suit ‘em up, bang bang!

Bang, bang, bang, bang.

Sex and the City

Nick Cave & Warren Ellis - Song For Jesse

Το βίντεο δεν είναι από την ταινία αλλά η θαυμάσια μουσική των Nick Cave & Warren Ellis προέρχεται από το soundtrack του The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford που θα παιχτεί στην Ελλάδα στις 10 Ιανουαρίου.

Sam Stoat - Peggy Gordon

~~~~~~~
Chorus
O Peggy Gordon, You are my darling
Come sit you down upon my knee
And tell to me the very reason
Why I am slighted so by thee
verse 1
I am in love I can't deny it
My heart lies smothered in my breast
But it's not for you to let the world know it
A troubled mind can find no rest
verse 2
I lost myself in a cask of brandy
It was my fancy, I do declare
For when I'm drinking, I'm always thinking
And wishing Peggy Gordon was here
verse 3
I wish I was in a lonesome valley
Where womankind cannot be found
And all the little birds they change their voices
And every moment a different sound
verse 4
I wish I was away in Ingo
Far away across the briny sea
Sailing over deepest oceans
Where Peggy Gordon ne'r troubles me
ELTON JOHN - Can you Feel the Love Tonight / Blue Eyes
Elton John. Όσο κακόγουστος είναι οπτικά, τόσο υπέροχος τραγουδιστής είναι.
(Το "Can You feel the love tonight" ανήκει στο soundtrack "The Lion King")
MICHAEL NYMAN - The Sacrifice
Από το υπέροχο soundtrack "The Piano"
ZBIGNIEW PREISNER - Van den Budenmayer Concerto en Mi Mineur
Από το soundtrack της ταινίας του Κισλόφσκι "Η διπλή ζωή της Βερόνικας". Το video είναι άσχετο αλλά απολαύστε τη θεσπέσια μουσική, αν και ...ψυχοβγαλτική!
