Το Total Depravity που κυκλοφορεί 3 χρόνια μετά το Time Stays, We Go
ηχογραφήθηκε στο Los Angeles.
Ain’t it useless to fight or to pretend
It’ll all come out right in the end
Still you wait for me
You who’ve only time
Still you wait for me
Care to ease my mind
Iodine and iron?
And I’m thinking of you when times are hard
I feel as mad as the moon and twice as scarred
Still you wait for me
And you fill my heart
Still you wait for me
And you light the dark
Iodine and iron.
So don’t plead to me now to be only mine
Your love’s been stripping me down
Like turpentine
Still you wait for me
And then you leave no trace
Still you wait for me
Soon I’ll be erased
With iodine and iron.
Iodine and iron.
Iodine and iron.
Iodine and iron.
We crept from the room
The moonlight spilled down the hall
And I tiptoed with you
Then we climbed out the window
And there in the yard
Our nightclothes blowing in the breeze
And you looked up at the sky
And said the moon would be ours
And all this time I hear those words like bombs in the distance
And oh my mind, I can still smell the rain in the air
But time's gone by
And I'm not the kid I was on that evening
And somewhere inside
I hope you still see me just the way I was before I walked away
Mud on your dress
Blood stains on the knees of my pants
And we went in search of the moon
'cause you said that you knew where it slept in the day
So we gathered up our tools:
A sling-shot in case it ran for the sky
And a blanket from your room, the one with no holes
So we could drag it all the way back home
And you said when we got it back
We would cut it in two
And we'd wear the hide so magnificent
And then I could control time for you
And I still hear the way that you laughed
When you found I believed you
And I could still feel you pull on my arm
When I was too afraid to go
And all this time I hear those words like bombs in the distance
And my, oh my, I can still smell the dirt on our hands
'cause in my head
You're still alive, you're still alive
And I know that it's a lie
But it's one I like, it's one I like
Orca Act II (Oceanic SubterfugeI)
Το Garuna,
You carry me around
Like loose change jingle-jangling
At the bottom of your bag
You don't seem to feel it though
As you swing down the street
Walking that unique birthday-candle glow
In broad daylight
In broad daylight
And you don't even know
The way I love you
You never knew power, did you?
You thought that power was in a strong arm
People pass the laws and gold
Tsunamis and mushroom clouds
Oh babe that's nothing
You think it's kinda sweet
The stammer and the tremble in my voice
But don’t mistake it for weakness
Or some kind of incompleteness
'Cause round about now
I can feel it tingle-tangling
It's coiled up inside me
And it’s ready to blow
You never knew power, did you?
Thought it fizzed in the overhead lines
Burning steel and bone to carbon
Saturn 5 in vertical climb
You never knew power, did you?
Thought it roared like Niagra Falls
Or melted stone under volcanoes
Earthquake thunder lightning storms
The way I love you
Is something you don't understand
The way I love you
Took more than I could imagine, even now
You never knew power
All the time you felt so strong
But now you can't function
Awake or asleep
As the meaningless world falls away from your feet
And the Universe ceases it's light-speed retreat
Life was sweet in the meteor shower
Of the star-high divine
When you sparkled and fell
From heaven to hell
And ten years grinding by in every hour
In every hour
I know all about power
Listen to the rain
You might feel a tremble
You might feel it
When I was young it all seemed like a game
Living here brought no sense of shame
But now I'm older I've come to understand
Once we had houses
Once we had land
They rained down bullets on us as our homes collapsed
We lay beneath the rubble terrified
Hoping.. Dare we dream?
We gave up waiting
For us, to dream is still a dream
When I woke up, the house was broken stones
We suddenly had nothing
And nothing's changed
We live, eight people, in this overcrowded heat
Factory-farmed animals living in our own sweat
Living like this is all my baby brother ever knew
The world does nothing. What can we do?
We will kick the ball
We will skip the rope
We will play outside. Be careful
We will paint and draw. We will say our prayers
Outside the pitiless sun bleaches the broken streets
The darkness drops in the evening like an iron door
The men play cards under torchlight
The women stay inside
Hell can erupt in a moment day or night
You ask for trouble if you stray too close to the wall
My father died ..feeding the birds
Mum goes in front of me to check for soldiers
For every hot-head stone ten come back
For every hot-head stone a hundred come back
For every rocket fired the drones come back
For thirteen years the roads have all been closed
We're isolated. We're denied medical supplies
Fuel and work are scarce. They build houses on our farms
The old men weep. The young men take up arms.
We're packed like chickens in this town of block cement
I get headache from the diesel. When it rains, the sewers too
I had no idea what martyrdom meant
Until my older brother.. my older brother
I'm sorry. I can't continue.
You sow the wind, you reap the whirlwind, it is said
When people know they have no future
Can we blame them if we cannot tame them?
And when their hopes and dreams are broken
And they feel they might as well be dead
As they go, will we forgive them
If they take us with them?
Stay close
Stay home
Stay calm
Have faith
With the love of our family we can rise above anything
Someday surely someone must help us
With the love of our family we can rise above anything
Someday surely someone must help us
Even now we will go to school
Even now we will dream to dream
Someday surely someone must help us
Nothing's ever simple - that's for sure
There are grieving mothers on both sides of the wire
And everyone deserves a chance to feel the future just might be bright
But any way you look at it - whichever point of view
For us to have to live like this
It just ain't right
It just ain't right
It just ain't right
We all want peace and freedom that's for sure
But peace won't come from standing on our necks
Everyone deserves a chance to feel the future just might be bright
But any way you look at this - whichever point of view
For us to have to live like this
It just ain't right
It just ain't right
It just ain't right
It's like a nightmare rose up slouching towards Bethlehem
Like a nightmare rose up from this small strip of land
Slouching towards Bethlehem
It's like a nightmare rose up from this small strip of land
Slouching towards Bethlehem
Stay close
Stay home
Have faith
I can't know what twist of history did this to me
It's like a nightmare
With the love of our family
We can rise above anything
Some day surely someone must help us...
Song for a Warrior
There is a growing Golden light Flowered and folding Behind the mirror of your eyes
If an angel could hold up In his poshed white hand I know he believes it Like a bird to the sky
Now you are a warrior Who will conquer this land On a horse made of clouds You will scour the sands
Some people say God is long dead But I heard something inside you With my head to your chest
Oh, then All the wrong They say I have done
Their lies A seed Of a million more Just waiting to become
Send them home Send them home Send them home Send them home
Use your sword Use your voice And destroy And destroy
Then begin again
Lunacy
In the mind of no one Forming sun Forming love Break the chain Hide within Innocence Not innocent Innocent In no sense Eat the beast Keep him in Take the blame Speak the name
LUNACY
Hide beneath Your monkey skin Feel his love Nurture him Kill the truth Or speak the name

"The air in here smells like piss and beer The sweet cycle of life", Georgie E would say. Thirteen grandchildren gathered around Looking down into the ground.
"A slow descent into darkness, I deserve no less", His last words carried like an offering Upon his dying breath.
The sweet, sweet cycle of you and I. The sweet, sweet memories of you and me And the way we used to be.
I live, like in a dream, among the ruins, Of what has been. The slow descent into madness, The churning swell of love and chaos What was once at hand was now Forbade to touch.
The sweet, sweet cycle of you and I. The sweet, sweet memories of you and me And the way we used to be.
Annie won't you sit and have another drink with me? I'll keep them waiting while you sip your tea. Annie won't you sit and list them one more time, The reasons why I failed to to keep you mine?
Regret is for your those with choices, Those will voices, Those with reasons to stick around. So cast me deep into those black depths With the reassurance that Death gets The sons-of-bitches too. (and they won't be coming back for you)
The sweet, sweet cycle of you and I. The sweet, sweet cycle of you and me. The sweet, sweet cycle of you and I. The sweet, sweet memories of you and me And the way we used to be When we were free, How I long to be.

There is a sunset close behind
There is a blue ,light calling me
Trouble of the heart tonight I am so blind
I can see I want to burn your house down
Sit right here and watch you drawn
Could be too long of this where the shoulder
..of new pretenders wanting to be heard and shout out loud
I want to burn your house down
Sit right here and watch you drown
Sometimes I take out this gun on the motion boulevard
I put it on my mouth … here it comes and I don’t know
Feeling is gone and I wanna .. in this life I call it tight
Drop the … I want to burn your house down
Sit right here and watch you drown
I want to burn your house down
Sit right here and watch you drown
I want to burn your house down
Sit right here and watch you drown
I want to burn your house down
Sit right here and watch you drown
I want to burn your house down
Sit right here and watch you drown

Το ομώνυμο κομμάτι από το νέο άλμπουμ του Κουβανοαμερικανού Voltaire (Aurelio Voltaire Hernández) Riding a Black Unicorn... (ο πλήρης τίτλος του LP είναι: Riding a Black Unicorn Down the Side of an Erupting Volcano While
Drinking from a Chalice Filled with the Laughter of Small Children! ).
A darkness falls over the land
Enslaves with a wave of its hand
And I try to see the light through the disease
I try to get up on my feet
Been so long shackled down on my knees
For somewhere deep inside, I know
That fate favors the bold
So tonight, I'm riding a black unicorn
Down the side of an erupting volcano
And I drink, drink, drink
From a chalice filled
With the laughter of small children
When darkness is drowning your soul
And makes you feel alone in the cold
Find me, and grab a hold
This chalice, it overflows
So tonight, you're riding a black unicorn
Down the side of an erupting volcano
And you drink, drink, drink
From a chalice filled
With the laughter of small children
Lords of strength and gods of might
Hand over the reigns
Bless our path that tonight
We find the will to break these chains
And ride!
So tonight, we're riding our black unicorns
Down the side of an erupting volcano
And we drink, drink, drink
From a chalice filled
With the laughter of small children
And the blood and tears of our enemies
When you're weary
Feeling small
When tears are in your eyes
I will dry them all
I'm on your side
When times get rough
And friends just can't be found
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down
When you're down and out
When you're on the street
When evening falls so hard
I will comfort you
I'll take your part
When darkness comes
And pain is all around
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down
Sail on Silver Girl,
Sail on by
Your time has come to shine
All your dreams are on their way
See how they shine
If you need a friend
I'm sailing right behind
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will ease your mind
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will ease your mind
Από το τελευταίο EP της καταπληκτικής σειράς των Sleeping At Last, "... Yearbook", που ξεκίνησε τον Οκτώβριο του 2010 και ολοκληρώθηκε το Σεπτέμβριο του 2011. Στη σειρά υπάρχουν συνολικά 36 κομμάτια (τρία ανά EP).
Chances are we are the same; Against the odds, against the grain We lean, like gardens toward light, But we wait, like evening for night, Don't we?
Chances are we are alike; Against what better judgement writes We ache like children for love, For a purpose worthy of Such a noble aim, Such a noble aim, Such a noble aim as love.
Chances are we bruise the same; A family tree desperate for rain. A thirst only deserts know best. A hurt so at home in our chests. Call it stubbornness or bravery, To let our branches continue to reach, With such a noble aim, With such a noble aim, With such a noble aim as love.
Every broken branch and loosened leaf That we've grown to ignore, Is now a part of something greater than before. Every nest that rests upon our limbs, Seeking shelter from the storms, Is a purpose worth being broken for.
Chances are we are the same; Against the odds, against the grain We lean, like gardens toward light. We reach with all of our might For such a noble aim as love.
Εκτός από την επανηχογράφηση παλίότερουυ υλικού θα υπάρχουν επίσης 2 νέα κομμάτια ("Olde English 800" και "I Remember a Rooftop") και μια διασκευή του I Held Her in My Arms των Violent Femmes.
They tied that yellow ribbon round the oak tree
They’ve worn out all the prayer in their hearts
All along thought they were rooting for the home team
As they’re sent into the game and torn apart
We twist this tourniquet upon a pipeline
Carries all the pain in the world
As we blindly clap and cheer from the sidelines, It’s clear
On a losing streak from the very start
And that’s where they found me
In the cemetery
A smoking gun in my hand now
I’m damned for the land of the free
Sing with me
The American Scream
They took that faded ribbon off the oak tree
The’ve worn out all the hope in their hearts
All along thought I was doing the right thing
Now I’m lying in a pool of my blood
And that’s where she found me
In the cemetery
A smoking gun in my hand now
I’m damned for the land of the free
Sing with me
And that’s where she found me
In the cemetery
A smoking gun in my hand now
I’m damned for the land of the free
Sing with me
The American Scream
The American Scream
And that’s where she found me
In the cemetery
A smoking gun in my hand now
I’m damned for the land of the free
Sing with me
