Για τα 60 χρόνια που συμπληρώνονται σήμερα από το θάνατο του Άγγελου Σικελιανού, που ο λόγος του είναι ίσως σήμερα επίκαιρος όσο ποτέ από τη μέρα της φυγής του παραθέτουμε
Επτά χρόνια μετά την κυκλοφορία του Unshattered ο Peter Murphy επιστρέφει στη δισκογραφία με το ένατο (όγδοο στούντιο) προσωπικό του άλμπουμ Ninth.
Το Spit Roses είναι το πρώτο σινγκλ.
Την ευκαιρία να βγάλουν χρήματα φτιάχνοντας τη δική τους εκδοχή του νέου τους άλμπουμ The Future is Medieval δίνουν στους φίλους τους οι Kaiser Chiefs. Στην βασική του εκδοχή το νέο άλμπουμ αποτελείται από 14 κομμάτια αλλά υπάρχουν συνολικά 20 κομμάτια στην επίσημη σελίδα τους μέσα από τα οποία μπορεί κάποιος να επιλέξει τα 10 με αντάλλαγμα 7,50 στερλίνες και να δημιουργήσει τη δική του εκδοχή του The Future is Medieval. Στη συνέχεια του δίνεται η δυνατότητα να δημιουργήσει δική του σελίδα μέσα από την οποία μπορεί να πουλήσει τη δική του εκδοχή και να κερδίσει μία στερλίνα για κάθε κατέβασμα του άλμπουμ. Πολύ ωραίος τρόπος για να προωθήσουν τη νέα τους κυκλοφορία που έχει σαν πρώτο σινγκλ το Little Shocks.

Σε συμφωνικές συνθέσεις μετέτρεψαν παλιότερα κομμάτια τους οι My Dying Bride στο νέο τους άλμπουμ Evinta που κυκλοφορεί από τις 30 Μαΐου, δίνοντας μια νέα εντυπωσιακή διάσταση στα κομμάτια τους. Για την προώθησή του άλμπουμ σε συνεργασία με την εταιρία τους Peaceville προφέρουν από εδώ δωρεάν ένα από τα κομμάτια του Evinta.

Γραμμένο στο δωμάτιο ενός ξενοδοχείου το ξημέρωμα μιας νύχτας που είχε μείνει άυπνος είναι το The Day, πρώτο σινγκλ από το νέο άλμπουμ του Moby, Destroyed που κυκλοφορεί από τις 16 Μαΐου. Όπως λέει ο ίδιος "Το έγραψα με μια ακουστική κιθάρα και το ηχογράφησα με το κινητό μου, το έφερα στο σπίτι και το ξαναηχογράφησα με τα παλιά διαλυμένα ηλεκτρονικά που έχω στο στούντιό μου". Τα περισσότερα κομμάτια του άλμπουμ είναι επίσης γραμμένα κατά τη διάρκεια περιοδειών.

Συμπληρώθηκε χθες 16 Μαΐου ένας χρόνος από το θάνατο του Ronnie James Dio (Ronald James Padavona), που με τη σπάνια πολύτιμη σαν πανάκριβο πετράδι και αντιστρόφως ανάλογη του σωματικού του μεγέθους φωνή βάδισε στα πιο ψηλά μουσικά μονοπάτια και άγγιξε τις καρδιές των φίλων του ροκ και όχι μόνο για πάνω από πενήντα χρόνια.
Η φυσική του απώλεια είναι αδύνατο να εμποδίσει το ξεφύλλισμα της ιστορίας της πορείας του στη μουσική από τους παλιότερους αλλά και όλους όσους θα τον γνωρίσουν μέσα από την κληρονομιά που άφησε.
Γεννήθηκε στις 10 Ιουλίου του 1940 και ξεκίνησε τη μουσική του πορεία στα 15 μόλις χρόνια του συμμετέχοντας σε διάφορα ροκαμπίλυ συγκροτήματα παίζοντας διάφορα όργανα (τρομπέτα, μπάσσο κ.α.) και κάνοντας δεύτερα φωνητικά για να ξεχωρίσει σύντομα για την εξαιρετική φωνή του.
Οι The Vegas Kings που ήταν το πρώτο συγκρότημά του μετεξελίχθηκαν σε Ronnie and the Rumblers και στη συνέχεια σε Ronnie and the Redcaps με τους οποίους εμφανίστηκε για πρώτη φορά στη δισκογραφία το 1958.
Η επόμενη μετεξέλιξή του συγκροτήματός του ήταν οι Ronnie Dio and the Prophets που ο κύκλος τους ξεκίνησε το 1961 και έκλεισε το 1967.
Το 1967 μέλη των Ronnie Dio and the Prophets ιδρύουν τους Electric Elves που στη συνέχεια χρησιμοποίησαν τα ονόματα The Elves και Elf.
Ο Ritchie Blackmore επέλεξε το Ronnie James Dio σαν τραγουδιστή για τους Rainbow που ίδρυσε το 1974 μετά από την αποχώρησή του από τους Deep Purple. Σε αυτούς ο Dio έμεινε μέχρι το 1978 όταν αποχώρησε διαφωνώντας με την εμπορική στροφή του συγκροτήματος.
Επόμενο βήμα στην καριέρα του η συμμετοχή στους Black Sabbath (1979-1982) δίνοντας ώθηση στη φθίνουσα εμπορικά πορεία του συγκροτήματος εκείνη την περίοδο.
Στη συνέχεια σχημάτισε τους που αποτέλεσαν το άρμα για να μεταφέρει τις μουσικές του ιδέες για πολλά χρόνια (1982-1991, 1993-2010(κυρίως ως το 2004))
To 1984 είχε πολύ ενεργό συμμετοχή στο πρότζεκτ Hear'n Aid που κυκλοφόρησε το
κομμάτι We're Stars καταφέρνοντας να συγκεντρώσει πάνω από ένα
εκατομμύριο δολλάρια για τα πεινασμένα παιδιά της Αφρικής
Τον Νοέμβριο του 1990 συμφώνησε να επανέλθει στους Black Sabbath που κυκλοφόρησαν το Dehumanizer (1992).
Στους Black Sabbath ξαναγύρισε το 2006 (το συγκρότημα χρησιμοποίησε την ονομασία Heaven & Hell λόγω της παράλληλης υπάρξεως των B.S. με τον Ozzy Osbourne). Κυκλοφόρησαν ένα στούντιο άλμπουμ ( The Devil You Know-1989) και το
Live from Radio City Music Hall(2007) .
Μετά το θάνατό του έπαιξαν στο High Voltage Festival στις 24 Ιουλίου του 2010 με τραγουδιστές τους Glenn Hughes και Jørn Lande και πρόσφεραν τις εισπράξεις στο ίδρυμα Ronnie James Dio Stand Up and Shout Cancer Fund που συστήθηκε στη μνήμη του.
Το Νοέμβριο του 2010 κυκλοφόρησε το Neon Nights: 30 Years of Heaven & Hell με επιλογές από όλα τά άλμπουμ των Black Sabbath στα οποία συμετέσχε ο R.J.Dio συν την ηχογράφηση της συναυλίας τους στο Wacken στις 30 Ιουλίου του 2009.
Τελευταίο ηχογραφημένο τραγούδι του Ronnie James Dio που κυκλοφόρησε στις αρχές του 2010 ήταν το Εlectra, τραγούδι που θα παρουσίαζαν οι Dio στην περιοδεία τους.
