Η κυκλοφορία του νέου cd του Joe Henry Civilians, μου θύμισε την καταπληκτική ερμηνεία του Solomon Burke στο τραγούδι του Flesh and Blood. Το τραγούδι εμφανίστηκε πρώτα στο cd του Solomon Burke στο Don't Give Up on Me (2002), ενώ από τον ίδιο τον Joe Henry ακούστηκε την επόμενη χρονιά στο Tiny Voices .

To 1971 κυκλοφόρησε το 3ο LP των Edgar Broughton Band με τίτλο το όνομά τους. Από εκεί προέρχεται το Evening Over Rooftops στο οποίο συμμετέχουν στα φωνητικά οι The Ladybidrs.
Ανάμεσα στις άλλες συμμετοχές του LP στο Thinking Of You συμμετείχε και ο Mike Oldfield παίζοντας μαντολίνο.

Frank Zappa - Black Napkins

Ένα κερί καίει στην είσοδο της επίσημης ιστοσελίδας μιας από τις μεγαλύτερες μουσικές ιδιοφυίες του 20ού αιώνα. Ο γεννημένος στη Βαλτιμόρη με ελληνικές και αραβικές ρίζες από τον πατέρα του και ιταλικές και γαλλικές από τη μητέρα του, Frank Zappa έφυγε από κοντά μας στις 4 Δεκεμβρίου του 1993. Κομμάτια της τεράστιας μουσικής κληρονομιάς που μας άφησε εξακολουθούν να εμφανίζονται συνεχώς. Μόλις στις 31 Οκτωβρίου κυκλοφόρησε το 2πλό cd Wazoo. Όσοι ενδιαφέρονται για λεπτομέρειες της κληρονομιάς του Frank Zappa μπορούν να βρουν μια καταπληκτική παρουσίαση εδώ.

Sam Stoat - Peggy Gordon

Το παραδοσιακό ιρλανδέζικο τραγούδι Peggy Gordon περιέργως δεν περιλαμβάνεται στο soundtrack της ταινίας The Proposition, που υπογράφουν οι Nick Cave και Warren Ellis, παρά το ότι ακούγεται αρκετά σε αυτήν. Η μουσική του The Proposition νωχελικά μελωδική έρχεται σε πλήρη αντιδιαστολή με τη βιαιότητα της ταινίας. Αν ενδιαφέρεστε για περισσότερα στοιχεία σχετικά με το The Proposition μπορείτε να διαβάσετε την πολύ καλή και απόλυτα κατατοπιστική κριτική του Ηλία Δημόπουλου.
