David Gilmour - Yes, I Have Ghosts

 

Το Yes, I Have Ghosts εκτός από το single του 2020 περιέχεται σαν ομότιτλο bonus cd στην έκδοση με μαλακό εξώφυλλο  του βιβλίου της συζύγου του  David Gilmour, Polly Samson, A Theatre Of Dreamers, που κυκλοφόρησε στις 15 Απριλίου του 2021. Το βιβλίο που πρωτοκυκλοφόρησε το 2020 και είχε πολύ μεγάλη εμπορική επιτυχία αλλά και αναγνώριση από τους κριτικούς σαν το βιβλίο της χρονιάς, αναφέρεται σε μια 18χρονη, που μετακομίζει στην Ύδρα για να ξεφύγει από τον αυστηρό πατέρα της τη δεκαετία του 1960 και γνωρίζει πολλούς καλλιτέχνες ανάμεσα στους οποίους και το Leonard Cohen. Εκτός από τον David Gilmour στο cd παίζει και η κόρη του ζευγαριού Romany.

Βίντεο για το αφιερωμένο στη μνήμη των Ronnie James Dio και Dimebag Darrell, In The End  κυκλοφόρησαν στις 20 Αυγούστου (συμπίπτει με τη μερα που θα γιόρταζε τα 51α γενέθλιά του ο δεύτερος) οι Anthrax. 
Το κομμάτι βρισκόταν στο άλμπουμ τους Worship Music (2011).

Αναφορά στους Δελφούς και ιδιαίτερα στο Κωρύκειο Άντρο κάνει ο Steve  Hackett στο κομμάτι  που περιέχεται στο καινούριο του άλμπουμ Wolflight. Όπως αναφέρεται στην επίσημη σελίδα του τα δέκα κομμάτια του άλμπουμ πηγαίνουν τον ακροατή ένα ταξείδι στο χώρο και στο χρόνο κυττάζοντας τα διαφορετικά πρόσωπα της ατέλειωτης μάχης για ελευθερία.

Ακμαιότατος ο Neil Young  συνεχίζει τις περιοδείες και την κυκλοφορία νέων άλμπουμ με το Psychedelic Pill που είναι το δεύτερο με τους  Crazy Horse μέσα στη χρονιά και μάλιστα διπλό.
Περιέχει 9 κομμάτια από τα οποία τα 2 έχουν διάρκεια πάνω από δεκαέξι λεπτά ενώ το Driftin' Back που ανοίγει το άλμπουμ διαρκεί πάνω από 27 λεπτά.

Το καλύτερο άλμπουμ εδώ και πολλά χρόνια είναι για το Neil Young το Americana . Το άλμπουμ  που είναι η πρώτη του στούντιο συνεργασία με τους Crazy Horse από το  Greendale (2003) κυκλοφόρησε στις5 Ιουνίου και έφτασε στο Νο 4 του Billboard. Κάποιοι κριτικοί το αμφισβήτησαν όμως στην πλειοψηφία τους οι κριτικές ήταν πολύ θετικές. Το Americana περιλαμβάνει διασκευές παλιότερων κομματιών αλλά αυτά είναι κυριολεκτικά αναδομημένα με εξαιρετικό τρόπο και με τονισμένα τα πολιτικά τους μηνύματα, που να τα γίνονται ενδιαφέροντα, όχι μόνο στην Αμερική, απ' όπου προέρχονται αλλά και σε όλο τον υπόλοιπο κόσμο.

Würzel (1949-2011)

Στις 9 Ιουλίου η καρδιά του πρόδωσε τον για πολλά χρόνια κιθαρίστα των Motörhead, Würzel  (το πραγματικό του όνομα ήταν Michael Burston). Ο  Würzel  που είχε γεννηθεί στις 23 Οκτωβρίου 1949 ενσωματώθηκε στους Motorhead μαζί με τον Phil Campbell το 1983 και παρέμεινε στο συγκρότημα μέχρι το 1995 συμμετέχοντας ενεργά στη σύνθεση των περισσότερων κομματιών του συγκροτήματος εκείνη την περίοδο. Συμμετείχε στα άλμπουμ των Motorhead: No Remorse (1984), Orgasmatron (1986), Rock 'n' Roll (1987), Nö Sleep at All (1988 ), The Birthday Party (1990), 1916 (1991),  March ör Die (1992), Bastards (1993), Sacrifice (1995), BBC Live & In-Session (2005)

 Ο Würzel ετοιμαζόταν να παρουσιάσει την παρθενική δουλειά του συγκροτήματος Leader of Down που είχε πρόσφατα σχηματίσει.

James Douglas Morrison (8 Δεκεμβρίου 1943 – 3 Ιουλίου 1971)

Πέρασαν 40 χρόνια από τη μέρα που άφησε στο Παρίσι την τελευταία του πνοή ο Jim Morrison. Η εμβληματική μορφή των The Doors πέρασε στην άλλη πλευρά στις 3 Ιουλίου του 1971, χρονιά που η σημαδεύτηκε  με μεγάλες απώλειες στο χώρο της μουσικής. Ο Jim Morrison  μαζί με όλα τα άλλα ξεχώριζε για τη μόρφωση και την πνευματική καλλιέργειά του που αποτυπώθηκε αδρά και στην ποίησή του (οι στίχοι του έχουν θέση σίγουρα στην  ποίηση και όχι στην απλή στιχοπλοκή). 60 χρόνια από το θάνατο του Άγγελου Σικελιανού

Για τα 60 χρόνια που συμπληρώνονται σήμερα από το θάνατο του Άγγελου Σικελιανού, που ο λόγος του είναι ίσως σήμερα επίκαιρος όσο ποτέ από τη μέρα της φυγής του παραθέτουμε
